Nachos are famous as the go-to sports food and the thing that destroyed your gut the other day, but things don’t have to be that way. Here we will provide you with a healthier, more stomach-friendly, low carb, and calorie alternative. Additionally, we believe this protein and the fiber-rich recipe don’t ruin the magic of the potato nacho.

Sweet Potato Nachos with Collagen Guacamole


Sweet Potato:

1 (sliced) rather large sweet potato, 

Salt and pepper, 1 tbsp each

Olive Oil, 1 spray

And, for the Guacamole:

2 Avocados (remove flesh)

3  heaping scoops of peptide collagen protein powder 

100 grams of Cottage cheese 

3 full medium-sized cloves of garlic

2 tbsp of salt 

30 grams of onion (red onion) and chopped

1 or 2 juiced limes

Some coriander (10 – 20grams)

Tips for better bites:

If you want to further reduce carbs in this recipe, you can opt for a smaller sized sweet-potato which will save you some precious carbs.  You can even opt out not to use any sweet potatoes and only make the guacamole, and use a zucchini round for the chip part of the recipe. 

Some people don’t like the texture of a cottage. That’s okay! Use a blender to mix the cottage for a couple of seconds. You’ll get a way more creamy and delightful texture afterwards!

Step by Step Instructions:

Sweet Potato

Preheat the oven to 200 °C degrees. 

Slice the potatoes into really small pieces, around the size of your fingertips. Use a mandoline cutter for an even slicing experience, 

Place the these sweet potato slices across a bakery paper (also called parchment paper)

Spray the bakery paper with olive oil, or coconut spray.

Now, sprinkle your sweet potatoes with salt and pepper

Place in the oven, and roast for about 20 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and flip all your slides carefully (they’re super hot) and put them back in the oven for about 15 minutes. Check your sweet potatoes even minute at this point. Don’t burn them! 

Remove the potatoes from the pan and let it cool. 


Now, when your oven is taking care of the sweet potatoes, place the avocados and the lime juice in a bowl.

Using a fork, or the back of a spoon, smash the avocados into the sides of your medium to large bowl. 

Time for the secret ingredient: add unflavored peptide collagen powder into the bowl and whisk with the rest of the ingredients in the recipe above until everything is well-combined. 

Final Steps

After putting the roasted sweet potatoes on a serving plate, you can use a fork to dip them in the guacamole or, maybe use a spoon to add guacamole to each sweet potato slice. Your choice.
