Collagen air-fried shrimp tempura sushi is a tasty, crispy appetizer roll containing tempura shrimp, avocado, rice, and cucumber, among other ingredients, all marinated in a special sauce.  In general, shrimps maintain your cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol levels, which will reduce the chance of cardiac strokes. This DIY air-fried shrimp tempura sushi recipe can aid you if you don’t have that much extra to eat sushi out at restaurants as much as you would like and/or if you are looking for a hearty collagen-rich alternative.

Air Fried Shrimp Tempura Collagen Sushi Recipe


Tempura Shrimp

• 3 tablespoons of collagen peptide protein powder

• 1 pound of shrimp (or between 15 to 20 shrimps)

• 1 tablespoon of baking powder

• 3 tablespoons of unflavored whey protein powder

• 2 tablespoons of Club soda

• 2 large Eggs

• ½ a tablespoon of sea salt

• ½ a tablespoon of baking soda

• ½ a tablespoon of Xanthan gum

Sushi Roll

• 8 large fresh basil leaves

• ½ s cup of seeded and julienned cucumber

• ½ Cup of julienned orange pepper

• 2-4 Nori Sheets

• 1 Avocado, cut into strips (lengthwise)

Sesame and Coconut Aminos Dipping Sauce

• 2 tablespoons of water

• 2 tablespoons of Coconut Aminos

• 2 tablespoons of alternative sweetener

• 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar

• 2 tablespoons of Fresh Minced Garlic

• 1 tablespoon of Sesame oil

• 1 tablespoon of garlic chili paste

• ½  a tablespoon of red pepper flakes

• ½ a tablespoon of garlic powder

• 1/3  –  1/2 a cup of Coconut Oil (for frying)

• 2 green onions )sliced on the bias for serving(

• Extra Pink Himalayan Salt (use to your taste)

• 1 tablespoon of Powdered Peanut Butter (for a Thai Peanut Dipping Sauce – optional)• 3-4 tablespoons of Greek yogurt (for a creamy dipping sauce – optional)

  1. Tempura Shrimp:
    1. Mix all the tempura batter ingredients in a medium bowl with a fork, until the lumps are gone and the batter begins to fluff up.
    2. Dip shrimps in the batter coat and then place them in the heated oil. Fry shrimps three at a time in order to maintain the temperature. Flip the shrimps once in the hot oil and fry them for 2 minutes until they are crispy golden.
    3. Dry the fried shrimps on a baking rack with paper towels underneath to reduce the grease.

    Sushi Roll:

    1. Lay the Nori (dried seaweed) sheet on a sheet of parchment paper other traditional methods also exist that you can look up.
    2. Make sure that the dried seaweed has its coarse side facing up.
    3. Set chosen ingredients in the center, halfway amid the top and bottom of the Nori.
    4. Roll the edge that is closest to you up and over the filling in the center. (Like a Chipotle burrito).
    5. Lightly press along the length of the “log.” This motion makes the filling stick together and stops the roll from being too slack and loose.
    6. Carry on rolling the sushi away from you until you have completely rolled past the far edges of the Nori sheet.
    7. Dip your finger in warm water, and track it along the final inside edges to seal the roll.
    8. Slice it to 8 sushi bites per roll.
    9. Add a few green onion slices and sliced red pepper for color and serve it with dipping sauce below.

    Coconut Amino and Sesame Dipping Sauce:

    1. Mix the dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl and then put the mixture into small dipping cups for each individual.
